Baby Shower

Yesterday friends and family threw me a baby shower at Chateau Country Club. It was very nice and I would like to thank everyone who came and everyone who participated in throwing the shower. I really had a great time and enjoyed seeing everyone. I could not have asked for a better day and I am very thankful to everyone. We gots so many things for baby Sam to use and everything was beautiful. We also had brunch and it was delicious! The room was also decorated beautifully and my mom made an awesome diaper cake and wreath. (diaper cake in picture 2 and wreath in picture 3) I did not want to disassemble the cake but I put some items away today and had to do it. Who knew such a small baby would need so many things? I don't even know if we have room for everything!

I loved everything I received and there are too many to list but I just wanted to point out a few really special ones. My grandmother passed away before Hurricane Katrina and she loved to crochet and always made blankets for baby showers. Unfortunately, she never got a chance to make my baby blanket. Well, one of her good friends came to my shower and gave me a crocheted blanket, a cap, a hanger, and a christening dress, (picture 4) among other things. It was very sweet of her and very special to me. She used yarn left over from the blanket my grandmother crocheted for Brian and I when we got married. Then a friend of the family passed on the blanket my grandmother made for her shower because she wanted me to have it. I thought it was extremely sweet and thoughtful. I have to get a picture of that blanket. I am also waiting on some more pictures from my mom so I'll post more once I receive them.

Thanks again to everyone. Baby Sam, as well as Brian and I, are very lucky to have such wonderful people in our lives.
