4th of July weekend

Happy 4th of July! We had a nice extended weekend. On the 4th we went to Brian's parents and had lots of good food and swam, on Saturday we went car shopping (not a good idea in 100 degree weather) and then today we just hung around at home.

I think we decided on a car. Now we just need to shop around for the best price. We test drove a Highlander, 4 Runner and Pilot. I like the 4 Runner the most and I am not letting anyone persuade me away from black. Ialways wanted a black car and I changed my mind last time because of everyone else's opinion but not this time! It was so hot and we were so exhausted by the time we got home that we all took a nap. When I test drove the Pilot I noticed it was on empty so I asked the salesman if it would tell me how many miles I had left to go and as soon as I asked that question, the car ran out of gas! Good thing we were only on the service road and the guy called the dealership for them to bring us a gas can. He thought it was funny but it was so hot and we had to wait there for a little while!

Today we finished putting the bed together and I washed the sheets and some baby clothes. I am just so frustrated with furniture. We have another screw problem so I am going to have to contact the manufacturer. It's so frustrating! It's furniture for the baby and you expect it to be really safe and it just isn't. We hooked up the mattress spring and one screw didn't fit and when we screwed it in it pierced the back leg of the bed. I'm going to call tomorrow and see what they can do and hopefully they put a rush on it because we only have 8 or 9 weeks to go. Baby Sam will be here in no time. Here is what is happening with her according to http://www.babycenter.com/

This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.

I feel good but am starting to have problems sleeping all night. I toss and turn back and forth from side to side. I like to sleep on my back and I always seem to wake up like that but then I turn to one side or the other.

My gosh, you guys have the worst luck with furniture! I hope everything is settled in time for baby Sam's arrival!

Have fun at the shower this weekend!
