Brian and I (or I should say pretty much Brian on his own with the occasional screwing in of a bolt by me) put together the baby bed on Sunday. The furniture is really nice and solid wood so we just didn't understand how the bed could be put together with a few bolts and an allen wrench (I think that's what you call it). Anyway, we managed to get it done and when we got to the last screw at the bottom, it would not fit in. We got it in there eventually and the bed is secure but it confirms the fact that we do not have good luck with furniture. And it should be mentioned that the instructions were terrible. You would think they could give a little more advice instead of just some pictures. We need some help getting the mattress frame in because for some reason, according to the picture instructions, that is the last step and it is hard to lean over the bed and secure it in with just two people.
Next we pulled out the expensive Pottery Barn mobile to attach to the bed. It was in about 6 or 7 different pieces and did it have instructions? NO! I had to get on the Internet and look at the pictures to figure out how to put the thing together and attach it to the bed. It attaches but the top of the bed is wide so it doesn't hang properly. It plays twinkle twinkle little star and it rotates but it can't rotate on our bed because it really doesn't fit properly.
I ordered a rocker that is on backorder until August and a side table that is on backorder until the end of July. I hope it all gets here in time and we can finish the room. The room is coming along and it's really cute, but why can't things be easy?
I'll post some pictures when we get the mattress in and I put the bedding in.

I couldn't help but laugh at that posting. I'm pretty sure Shane and I incurred a very similiar experience in the baby furniture department :-)
