Sam's 2nd trip to the zoo

Friday Sam and I headed to the zoo for the second time. Daddy had to work this time so we met some friends. Sam was really good and seemed to enjoy it. She paid more attention to the animals this time and we got to see the sea lion show and she watched the sea lion, Porter, the whole time while she chugged down her lunch. The sea lion was very close to us. I got a few pictures but didn't get to zoom in because it was hard to feed Sam and take pictures at the same time. After lunch, she got tired and was ready to go. She didn't want to get back in her stroller and she is heavy so I didn't want to carry her around the zoo. We made a stop at the gift shop for a few minutes and I found a pink monkey for her. I showed it to her and she smiled and started eating it so I had to get it for her. I'm sure it's her first of many zoo souvenirs. She held it the whole ride home. Maddie was confused when we got home and she really wanted it and thought it was hers. Thankfully, I had a pink pig for her to enjoy (it didn't come from the zoo. We just had it at home and hadn't given it to her yet.) She decapitated it already. The only thing left is the pig's head. Poor pig. Sam's monkey is safely displayed in her room out of Maddie's reach.
As we were walking out of the zoo, there was a woman sitting on one of the benches and she told me hi and asked if she could hold Sam for a few minutes. Strange, right? I told her that we were in a hurry and had to go and hurried off to the car!

Mimi was working in Covington so we picked up Pops at Lakeside on our way home and Mimi met us after work and they got to play and visit with Sam. Before we went home, we stopped and got a snowball. I love chocolate and we stood in line only to find out that they were out of chocolate. I really didn't want anything else but I got ice cream flavor and let Sam have a few bites. She made a face but kept opening her mouth for more.
