i got the nikon D40 bc it was it has the fast shutter speed and was a decent price. you can get them around $500. i think that it would have the features you would need and be the best camera like that for the money. of course, you could get a really good one like nikki or erica but those are over $1000.
I was going to suggest a Nikon D40 too!

I just got the Nikon D40 and love it too. Just be prepared that you can't just throw it in your purse. I got a special bag for it which is great. As far as fast shutter speed goes and quality pictures, it's awesome. You can still take most pics on the automatic setting and don't have to worry about figuring out a complicated camera.
I've used my old camera twice since I got my new one and I realize just how frustrating it is to use.
Thanks for the suggestions! Everyone I have asked told me they have the same camera. Now I am jusy trying to convince Brian to let me get it before Christmas :-)
