I made it through!

Monday I had a doctor's appointment and had to do the diabetes and anemia test. We ate lunch and then went to the doctor early and I drank the orange stuff. The nurses said I had 5 minutes to drink it and they really watched me to make sure I did it. Then Brian and I hung out in the waiting room for an hour and then went in to do the bloodwork. I got to sit in a different room this time in a reclining chair and it took less than 3 minutes and I was fine. I got up and walked back to the examining room and waited for my doctor. I was very proud of myself. The doctor said everything looks great and I am measuring right on track. Now we start going back more frequently - every 3 weeks.

We have less than 15 weeks to go before Samantha Grace arrives. I feel like the time will fly by now. We really have to get moving on the nursery and finish it up. As for me, I feel pretty good. I have been having heartburn so sometimes I don't feel too great at night and I also have been tired so I try to go to bed early. I have noticed my ankles and feet swelling a little but the doctor said that is normal, especially with the New Orleans heat. Other than that, everything is going well. I do have to say though that Michele lent me this book - The Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy - and I got to the labor section and thought about changing my mind :-) I'm sure everything will turn out fine though and we are excited.
