School Christmas Program

Avery clapping for something, while Sam checks out her light necklace. Getting both to smile and look at the camera did not work out :)
Wa-wa (as Avery says water)
Sisters. (love Avery's expression)

Samantha walking in.
Cookies for daddy's work. The ones I made for the program, I put on a platter.

Samantha's Christmas Program was on December 14th. It was adorable, despite my rotten morning! I put all of the stuff in the car and then went back for the girls. When I went to put them in, the door was locked! I had a rental car (another story for a different time :)), so I called the rental agency and they didn't have a spare key. They suggested a towing service nearby or Pop A Lock. I called the Towing Service and was almost crying. It was 8:40 and Samantha needed to be at school for 9 and the program was for 9:30. They assured me they would get to the house quickly and they did. The man arrived around 8:50 and I had the girls in the car by 9:05. The poor man must have thought I was crazy because I loaded the kids in the car as soon as he opened it and then I wrote him a check as quickly as I could and headed out. I had called the school to tell them and they said to drop Sam off in the carpool line still and they would come get her and the cookies. We made it to school for 9:15 and I hurried and parked and made it into the Church in time! Whew! I would have been devastated for us to miss the program!

Anyway, I had tears in my eyes as I watched my big girl up on stage for the 1st time. She was so cute. She loves Christmas songs and sings them all the time, but she didn't really do all of the hand movements for the program. I guess she was a bit nervous. She was super excited to spot us in the crowd though! Avery was excited to see Samantha too and she was trying to sing along and she clapped for everyone :) After the program, there was a cookie reception. I had signed up to make cookies, so I had to make 2 dozen. Since I was making them anyway, I went ahead and made some for Brian's employees and some for Sam's dancing party, which was the same night. In addition to me, Brian and Avery, Mimi, Pops, Granny and Aunt Nikki came to the program! Afterwards, we headed home for a while and then ate lunch at Olive Garden.
