The king cake baby - kind of creepy if you ask me :)
Avery enjoying a nap. She wasn't too impressed.

Yesterday, we ventured to the Superdome to see the World's Largest King Cake. A local bakery, along with the Saints, worked together to create the largest king cake and break the world record to raise money for breast cancer research. The cake consisted of two rings covered in white icing and black and gold sprinkles and it circled around the dome. The inner ring broke the record and the outer ring broke that record. The cake was was held up by 500 tables! The record to break was made in 2001 in Houston with a 3,007 pound cake.
The cake tasted great and we had fun with Mimi and some of our friends. There was a band playing, free water, milk and coffee.
Here are the official stats for the cake:
Eggs: 5,136
Flour: 4,000 pounds
Icing: 2,087 pounds
Sprinkles: 331 pounds
Cinnamon sugar: 299 pounds
Yeast: 286 pounds
Vegetable Oil: 70 pounds
Flavoring: 9 gallons
Official record weight: 4,068 pounds, 8.99 ounces for the inner ring and 4,073 pounds, 7.12 ounces for the outer ring.
