Avery's appointment with the cardiologist

This afternoon Avery had an appointment with a pediatric cardiologist to listen to her heart and have an EKG. The doctor said she looks fine and her heart sounds great. Just to be safe and double check, she is being monitored for 24 hours. She has 5 wires on her chest with a little travel pack. I have to take it off at 1:35 pm tomorrow and mail it back and they will check it and call us with the results. Poor thing is worn out from her appointment. She is such a good baby and only cries when she is gassy or having her clothes or diaper changed. She hates doctor appointments because they fool with her too much. Every time we go, the nurses ask if she uses a paci and they want me to give it to her to calm her down :-) She usually doesn't take the paci and always stops crying when I pick her up.

Sam came with us and had a check up because I had a suspicion she had an ear infection. The doctor said her left ear is really infected but the right is clear. The only reason I suspected it was because she hasn't napped well for 2 days and has woken up whiny and cranky, she started with a runny nose yesterday, and she woke up whining numerous times last night. Usually she hates to take medicine but she rode with Brian to pick it up tonight after her bath and she was excited to come home and tell me that she got medicine and she actually took it without a fight. Thanks so much to Granny who came with us to the appointment. She took Sam in while Brian and I met with the cardiologist. Sam's doctor said she was such a good girl. She sat on a big girl chair and read a book the whole time and let him check her out. She kept telling me all afternoon that she "yikes him" (her doctor) and she told me "check eyes," "check nose," "check ear." Every time I pick her up or change her diaper I am amazed by how much she has grown. She's such a big girl now!
