Waiting for the choo choo (shuttle) to take us to the pool
Checking out the marina and boats
Saturday morning we packed up and headed to Orange Beach for the week. It was Sam's 1st trip away from home and even Maddie got to come. It's also our last trip before Avery joins the family in about 5 weeks. Can you believe it's that soon? It doesn't take too long to get to the beach from our house and everyone was very good in the car. I was worried about Sam adjusting because she has never slept away from home and she was going to sleep in the pack n play and has never liked it. But she did great! She cried a few minutes when we put her down the 1st night but she did so well! She liked the fact that she would wake up and say mommy and I would be right there in the bed next to her. Maddie, on the other hand, did not like vacation much. I think she just likes being at home and was a bit confused. She hated when we all left the room. I think it was better than boarding her though. My parents, brother and sister-in-law also joined us. I think they are happy to be home now so they can sleep late. If Sam didn't get up early and wake them up then Maddie did. Maddie knows she eats at 7 so she will wake you up. She woke them up earlier because she was excited everyone was there. She likes to jump on you and it's not too fun when an 80 lb dog jumps on top of you to wake you up!
When we arrived, we unpacked and headed to the grocery. Everyone was worn out so we hung out at home that night. The next day, we headed to the pool. There's a shuttle that takes you to the pool and Sam loved riding the choo choo. When we would wait for it, she would say "come on, choo choo." She absolutely loved the pool area. There is a zero entry wave pool, kiddie pool and lagoon pool, along with a lazy river. There is also sand along the lazy river with hammocks and chairs. The kiddie section had sprinklers, a little slide, and a big slide. Thanks so much to daddy and Pops for going on the slides with her. She wanted to go on them over and over! She kept saying "I side" or "I simming."
More pictures to come of the rest of our days.
