Paula Deen Live!

Yesterday, my mom and I headed to Houma to see Paula Deen Live! I had no idea she was even going to be there until Friday morning when I saw a commercial. Surprisingly, they still had tickets available so I asked my mom if she wanted to go and asked if Brian would stay home with Sam. We had a good time! It was something to see if you like cooking and Paula Deen. It is not actually a cooking show. She mostly talks and takes questions from the audience. They do cook a few things but she has a helper. In this case, it was a local cooking school student. Her husband and Aunt Peggy were with her. She has a new line of furniture out so a local furniture store sponsored the event and they gave away some things. I was able to buy an autographed copy of her new children's cookbook so Sam and I can cook together when she gets older.

Because a bridge to get there was closed and we did not know it, we had to turn around and go another way so we wasted about 40 minutes. We got there with 5 minutes to showtime when we planned on being there an hour before when the doors opened. Well, the show started late so we were fine and we managed to find good seats. On the way home, a limo flashed its lights at us to pass us and I think it may have been Paula on her way back to New Orleans. She mentioned she was going to New Orleans and said something about Harrah's so she may have been on her way there.
