I am in the middle of 29 weeks so I only have about 10 to go! It seems like September is far away but I know it will come quick. I can't wait for baby Sam to arrive now. I had a doctor's appointment Friday and she said everything was great. I go back in 3 weeks and then 2 and then every week to start checking my progress! I am a planner and like to have things ready so I have been gradually putting things together in my hospital bag that I won't need from now until then.
We also decided to wait until next year to get the floors done because we have so many other things to get now like a car, a video camera and a tv for Sam's room and for the guest room. I'm just glad we made a decision. Now we can put together the baby bed and we are just going to have the carpets professionally cleaned a few weeks before Sam arrives. I'll post some pictures once the bed is finished.
Here is what is happening with the baby this week (from www.babycenter.com)
Your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain. To meet his increasing nutritional demands, you'll need plenty of protein, vitamins C, folic acid, and iron. And because his bones are soaking up lots of calcium, be sure to drink your milk (or find another good source of calcium, such as cheese, yogurt, or enriched orange juice). This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited in your baby's hardening skeleton each day.
How your life's changing:Your baby's very active now. Your practitioner may ask you to spend some time each day counting kicks and will give you specific instructions on how to do this. Let her know if you ever notice a decrease in activity. You may need a nonstress test or biophysical profile to check on your baby's condition. Some old friends — heartburn and constipation — may take center stage now.
