Fun Week with Mimi and Pops

My dad started back to work this Tuesday, so we made sure to do a lot of fun things last week. On Tuesday, we went to story time at Barnes and Noble and then to lunch. Sam asked to spend the night (I was worried because she didn't have her stuffed animals, dolls, or air purifier, but she insisted it was okay and she wanted to stay), so she went to my dad's volleyball game with him and my mom and they took her to dinner at IHop (her request - she loves pancakes!). My dad slept with her and he said she did fine, although she woke up a few times and woke up early. This was only the 3rd time she has spent the night out. The next morning, my dad took her to a meeting, to get donuts, to the park to ride the carousel and to Chick-Fil-A before he and my mom brought her back home. On Friday, the 5th, we went to the Children's Museum with Mimi and Pops. The last time we went, Sam was almost a year old. She absolutely loved it and could have spent the whole day there. Her favorites were the cafe and the grocery. Avery's favorite was the horse! Afterwards, we went to Superior Grill for lunch. I haven't been there since I had Avery. My doctor is at Touro, so Brian and I had lunch there a lot when we went for check-ups for Avery. After that, we headed to the mall to get some clothes and shoes for the girls. Avery's foot is too narrow, so they couldn't fit her. Sam's foot is on the verge of being wide, but we found 2 pairs of shoes for her for preschool. On the way out, I found 2 pairs of shoes for myself at Macy's :) We headed back to Mimi and Pops and when I said it was time to go, Sam said she wanted to sleep again. My parents said why not? With my dad starting back to work, there wouldn't be many more opportunities to let her stay, except on weekends. So they headed off to dinner and Avery and I went back to the mall to get some more shopping in. I'm glad I decided to go back because we went in one store we had visited earlier in the day and they said they were wondering if I would come back because Avery had dropped her shoe. I would not have known where her shoe went once I got home and realized it was missing! Anyway, Avery and I got a little shopping in and headed back home.

Sam came back on Saturday and we ended up going to see Cars 2 with my parents while Avery stayed home with daddy. She loved it, although she preferred sitting on the steps instead of her seat and had to go to the bathroom 3 times. We had a great week and are so sad to see Pops go back to school, but school is starting soon for Sam and dancing has started up again, so I'm sure we'll stay busy!
