Happy Easter! I hope everyone had a great one! We sure did! It was such a great day spent with my family. This was Avery's 1st Easter! I am so lucky to have such a great family, an awesome husband and my 2 beautiful girls and beautiful doggie girl :)

Sam woke up calling for me this morning and asking if the bunny had come. Saturday night, we left him some carrots, milk and a chocolate sucker. He drank the milk, left a piece of carrot and ate the sucker. He left a trail of eggs from Sam's room to the dining room, where her basket was. We made a deal that she would give up her pacis to the Easter bunny and he would give them to babies that needed them and give her toys in return. Well, we were down to one paci and about three weeks before Easter, on a Wednesday night, we could not find it when she went to bed. We looked everywhere! She ended up going to sleep without it and has been without it ever since! Such a big girl! She only asked for it twice since then. One time was last week, when she was sick and it broke my heart! I couldn't be prouder of my big girl. So, the Easter bunny came through and got her Jessie and Bullseye, Toy Story 2, princess sunglasses, play doh, a Minnie cup, a pillow pet, some books and candy. Miss Avery got a teether, some bloomers, books, puffs, yogurt bites and Minnie Mouse. Maddie even got a few toys. Then the girls got a lot more goodies from Mimi and Pops! Thanks to them and Chris and Mal for all the awesome prizes.

My family came over around noon and we had brunch. Brian and I made jalapeno cheese grit cakes, crab cakes, poached eggs, hollandaise sauce, and homemade biscuits. It came out great. My mom brought cakes for dessert. After the girls napped, we had an Easter egg hunt. It was such a fun day!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but everyone has been sick. I took Avery in for her 9 month well visit on Tuesday, the 12th. Everything was great. The next morning, both girls woke up with runny noses and coughs. I took them both to the doctor on Friday and they just had colds. Saturday morning, Sam and I went to our neighborhood Easter egg hunt and she got fever after we got home. She rested and I gave her Tylenol and she was feeling better Sunday, so we went to our neighbor's birthday party. That night, she woke up screaming that her ear hurt. I took her to the doctor Monday and she had an ear infection. Brian started not feeling well over the weekend also. He went to work Monday, but came home at lunch. He watched Avery while I took Sam to the doctor and I got home and he said she had been screaming all afternoon. She was miserable. She only wanted me to hold her and she would just lay on my chest - no smiles, no playing, nothing. So sad for her because she is all smiles. I ended up calling the on call doctor and we got an appointment for her on Tuesday morning. She finally went to bed Monday night, but I had to give her a breathing treatment and she woke up several times, so I eventually just slept with her on my chest. Went to the doctor with her Tuesday and she had a double ear infection. The Amoxcillin kicked in pretty quickly for her and she slept all night Tuesday and took good naps Wednesday. Meanwhile, Brian was still sick and stayed home all week from work. He went to the doctor Wednesday. Two things he doesn't usually do - miss work and go to the doctor, so you know he wasn't feeling well. Anyway, everyone seems to feel better now and I haven't gotten it, so that's good! I'm hoping we stay well for a while now!
