What We've Been Up To

I promise I brushed her hair several times, but this was after she had been running around dancing in her tutu.

We have been staying busy. We had a fun weekend with Mimi and Pops while daddy went out of town for work and to the Cotton Bowl. Once a week or so, we go spend the day at my mom's or she comes to us. Whenever my dad has off of work, he comes to visit as well. Sam and I signed up for an art and play class on Thursdays. She loves it. She gets to run around and play and make an art project each time and there is storytime and learning time. It's preparing her for preschool. And speaking of which, we have visited 4 schools and decided where she is going to go starting in September. Registration is next week. I can't decide if I want to send her 2 days or 3 days. She loved visiting the schools and went right into the classrooms and loved the toys and playgrounds. Everyone asked if she had been to school before and commented that she looked ready. I really don't think she would have minded if I left her there and she started school right then and there. Every morning she wakes up and asks if we are going to class :)

We got Avery's 6 month pictures taken and managed to get some of Sam as well. The sneak preview I got is precious. I am still waiting on the rest. I decided I wanted to do a Cafe Du Monde scene to hang in the kitchen. It was an ordeal finding a big white cup, but we finally found one and the photographer picked it up the morning of our photo shoot. She ended up getting lost, so the shoot got pushed back and unfortunately it was naptime for both girls and they didn't do so well. Sam didn't really want to get in any pictures and Avery was falling asleep. I am anxious to see if we got any of them together in their dresses. Every time Sam would sit, she would hug Avery and hide her face. So we went back for round 2 last Saturday and the photographer's camera wouldn't work. 15 minutes or so later, it was finally working. We managed to get some precious shots of Sam and Avery in tutus and the Cafe Du Monde scene. I think Sam ate an entire order of beignets, but as long as she had one in her hand, she did whatever the photographer asked. Avery was finished and we were feeding her and the photographer was still snapping pics of Sam. She asked her to smile and take the beignet out of her mouth, but she didn't do that for long! She loved them!

And this week, we are hanging out at home since we all have colds. We went to the doctor on Monday and everything else looks great. They tested negative for rsv. I just have 2 girls (3 counting me) with colds that are very cranky! I hope we all get better soon. We just went for Avery's 6 month well check 2 weeks ago. It seems like they always get sick after we go to the doctor. I can't complain though because this is Avery's 1st cold and Sam has only had a few colds and 2 ear infections. So we have been pretty lucky!
