What a great helper! Sam helps load the dishwasher and Maddie licks the dishes clean!
Playing in the sandbox. We haven't gotten sand yet as you can see, so I just put her in there with some toys and she loved it. She is laughing at Maddie in this picture.
Checking out her new shoes
Playing with the balloons from her party. Check out Maddie - she is scared of everything, the balloons included :-)Since Sam's birthday we have been staying busy. We had a nice holiday weekend. On Saturday, Brian's parents came over and Brian and I went to lunch and to get a few things at the grocery. He then watched the LSU game at his brother's and the girls (Sam and Maddie) and I stayed home. On Sunday, we hung out at home and went to eat lunch at Mellow Mushroom. Then on Monday my family came over and I made a pork roast and mac and cheese.
Sam took her one year pictures last week and she wasn't as smiley as usual so I didn't think it would be a hard decision to pick out the ones I wanted to order, however, they came out great and she did smile for a lot. There are also a lot of poses. It was hard but I placed my order and I am excited to be getting a 16x20 for the living room. I plan on doing that with all of our kids and keeping their one year portraits displayed. If I haven't already emailed you the link and you want to see them, leave me a comment with your email address or email me and I will send it to you.
Sam has been taking more steps but she is not completely walking yet. Crawling is much faster to get places! She is like a little speed demon. In terms of new things she is doing, she now knows what a balloon is and she loves playing with and pointing to her birthday balloons in the house. Some are still blown up - they lasted almost 2 weeks! We were reading a book and it had a balloon in it and she pointed to her balloon. She also knows what flowers are and points to the flowers in our kitchen when you ask her where mommy's flowers are. She also knows about trees and loves when we go outside. I hold her and let her touch the leaves and she gets so excited. She still loves her books but now she is into the lift the flap books by Karen Katz. I have to make sure she doesn't rip all of the flaps! She loves any stuffed animal now and makes a squealing noise whenever she sees one. I think her favorite time of day is when Brian gets home and plays with Maddie. She gets on the floor with them and thinks it's hilarious. I will have to video it one day. She loves to eat and feed herself and eats pretty much anything. She is also really into balls and loves her new ball popper and ball pit. Unfortunately, we have to hide the balls a lot because of Maddie. She thinks they are hers. On Monday she chewed up three balls from the ball pit and ended up getting sick.
