12 Month Well Check

Sam had her one year check-up on Monday. She did great. She did not really want to see the doctor but he is super nice and lets her sit on my lap while he examines her. He took out the tool with the light to check her eyes and ears and she flashed him a smile. I thinks she thought it was a camera. I trained her well :-) The doctor said she was a ham. She got four shots (flu, MMR, PVC and chicken pox) so she had four tweety bird bandaids. She also had to give blood. The nurse told me to sit her on my lap, hold one arm behind my arm and hold her still so she wouldn't move her back. I was a little worried but she did great and did not even cry. The nurse pricked her finger and started collecting blood and said maybe she would have a delayed reaction and cry later or cry when she put the bandaid on. She never did. She was such a big girl. And she got a Barbie bandaid on her finger. She also got a silly looking smiley face rattle as a prize. Then she got her shots and she did cry for those. I felt so bad but they were over quick and she did not cry for long. She has been fine and doing great since then. We have to go back in a month to get one more dose of the flu shot.

Here are her stats:
Weight: 19 lb., 13 oz. (25%)
Length: 31.5 in. (95%)
Head: 44.5 cm
