New Toys!

Favorite new sleeping position and naptime in her bed!
Trying on an outfit before bed (that's why her jammies are underneath her)

New toys!

Duckie tub. I will get some pictures of her in it this weekend. I need Brian around because I would never leave her in it unattended to take pictures :-)

I put Sam's ABC mat on the floor in the office (which I guess is now technically office/playroom/gym) and I took out some of her toys that she got for Christmas that she can now play with. She got an activity table so I just put the top on the mat without the legs, she got a learning purse that is so cute - it has a mirror, money, lipstick, keys, and a bracelet, and she got some stacking cups that she loves. They turn into balls and of course Maddie loves that too. I have to make sure she doesn't steal them! She also got this ball that you crawl after and it moves. I turned it on and she was mesmerized by it but it kept moving and then turned back toward us and started moving toward her face. That can't be good to get hit in the face by a big hard ball.

In other news, I think Sam will start crawling soon. She rolls around to get whatever she wants and whenever you hold her she tries to climb out of your hands, especially when the remote control is around. She loves that! I usually undress her on the sink before her bath and she has been turning to her side and grabbing the faucet and trying to sit up. And forget about diaper changes. She tries to get up and grab hold of the windowsill. I started babyproofing because she is going to be everywhere once she becomes mobile!

Sam also got a new tub. She is too big for her bath sling now and the bath tub has a hump in it that hurts her so I found an inflatable duckie tub for her. So far she seems to love it. She can stretch out and actually play with some toys (although her fave is the cup I rinse her with). She also throws her leg over the edge or she rubs her foot across the bottom of the tub constantly because she likes the noise it makes.

After the first few months of sleeping in the bassinet, she always slept in her bed at night but would only nap in her swing. Now she is getting uncomfortable in her swing because she loves to sleep on her side and stomach (although she used to absolutely hate her stomach) so I have been putting her in her bed for naps and telling her it's nap time and I leave. Sometimes she talks and plays for a while but she usually ends up falling asleep pretty quickly. Today I put her in and she fell asleep within 5 minutes. Check out her new favorite position with her butt in the air. It's funny how much they change and evolve. She used to sleep on her back and hate her stomach and then she always slept on her side. A few weeks ago she started turning onto her belly and would get mad and now that she can toss and turn as she pleases she usually ends up sleeping on her belly. She also gets frustrated when I put her on the floor on her back. She wants to sit up or be on her belly to play with her toys. She can sit up for a few seconds before she falls back but she will get there soon! She is getting too big too fast! She'll be 7 months old tomorrow!
