1 Month Check-Up

Today was Sam's one month check-up. Here are her stats:

Weight: 8 lbs., 13 oz. (50 percentile, up from the 10th percentile on our 1st visit)

Length: 22 inches (90 percentile)

Head: 14 1/4

She also has some bumps on her face, chest, head, back of her neck and the back of her neck is really red and splotchy. The doctor said it was a mixture of rash, baby acne and a birthmark (on the back of her neck), which will all go away without treatment. The other good news is that she had some irritation in her nose last week that has cleared and with the eye ointment, her blocked tear duct has cleared.

We go back October 28th for her 2 month check-up and shots. I have to give her baby tylenol before. She already doesn't like the doctor so I'm sure the next visit with shots will be even worse. It doesn't help that every time we go to the doctor it's time to eat and we have to wait for the doctor to look at her and put her clothes back on before she can eat. She's not on a set schedule so I never know when to make her appointments :-)

I posted some pics above of bathtime last night. At first she didn't like her baths but we realized she just doesn't like to be cold so we cover her up more and make sure the bathroom is heated and now she loves to lounge in her tub. The other pic is of the little burrito napping in her pack n play, which she does not like so much yet. She doesn't stay sleeping in it for long but now she is noticing the bears so I think she may start to like it.
