All About Avery

I am still playing catch up on the blog, but thought I would post an update on the girls.  Miss Avery Blair turned 2 on July 2, 2012.  She is 35 inches and weighs 24 pounds, a sweet little thing.  She is so full of energy and is such a chatterbox.  She talks constantly now and repeats everything.  I will tell her to stop doing something and she says "no mom, you sop (stop)."  She is definitely sassy and has no fear.  I just love hearing her talk.  She also thinks anything you tell her is negative.  For instance, if you say you're so pretty or you're a monkey, she'll say "no, I not pitty." or "no, I not monkey."  Silly girl.  She says I love you now ("I lub you, mom") and I love the way she says ok or "awight (alright)"  She calls Samantha boo boo and is starting to call her sissy.  She says sissy is her "best fend (friend)" but she also says I am, my mom is, my dad is and Brian is :) She also says some people are her "fave-it" (favorite).  She knows her name is "Abey Cook" and she often tells people in random stores we are in that I am mommy Cook :)  Whenever I sit down, she says "I sit you lap."  She is obsessed with ice and I have to get her a cup every time I leave the gym or she steals my cup - "I dink you wa wa, mom."  She loves her big sister and although they fight over toys and scream and chase each other, they are so sweet at other times, especially when they hug and kiss goodnight.  We got wood floors in all the bedrooms and decided to make Avery's room a playroom, so the girls share a room now and it's so sweet.  The first few nights were hard because Avery would stay up talking to Samantha and keep getting out of bed, but not they're both pretty good about going to sleep pretty quickly.   On one of the 1st nights, Avery came out around 9:30 and said "mommy, sissy don't hear me."  I guess not - sissy was sleeping! In the morning, if they wake up at the time time, they come out holding hands to find me.  I love it! At 1st Avery got upset when Sam started school and we dropped her off.  She is getting used to it now and I thinks she likes the freedom to play with whatever she wants when Sam isn't home.  Avery and I usually go the gym after we drop Sam off at school and then run some errands.  She is doing great at the gym, although she didn't like when I would leave her at 1st.  I signed her up for gymnastics to give her an activity all to herself and she loves it!  They do different stations and learn different things and then have free play.  My little monkey is one of the only ones in her class that can pull herself up on the uneven bars and put her feet in between her arms.  Right now Avery loves macaroni and cheese, bananas, strawberries, applesauce, hot dogs, cheese, ham and turkey, carrots, broccoli, goldfish, pancakes, waffles, Chick Fil A nuggets and fries and cheese pizza the most.  She loves to watch Mickey Mouse (although she calls him Minnie) and Calliou (who she calls Ha-you).  She loves to sleep with her stuffed Mickey (and Samantha's), her stuffed Pluto, and a stuffed fish that Granny and Paw-Paw got her from Atlantis.  She is over footed pajamas and says she wants to wear "pants" and a "dess (dress)"  She also loves playing with the play kitchen and baby dolls and is obsessed with this small pack of Mickey books we have.  Both girls usually want me to do everything for them, but Avery got really attached to Brian when we were home for the recent hurricane.  Now I will go get her out of bed and she says "no, daddy get me."  She gets mad if I say he already went to work :)  She is also potty trained during the day as of last week! It took her about 3 days and she hasn't had many accidents at all! She is such a cute, sweet , sassy girl and we love her so much!
